thanks.
going to try an x5. we need more reliability.
if only range rovers were built to the quality that they should have been. there are no other 4 x 4s that come anywhere close to having the looks or pressence that the range rover has.

I've changed my Rangie for an X5 and its a great improvement in every way....except, of course, you do miss the quirky P38 and the unpredictability of "what's going to break next and how expensive will it be??". The X handles superbly on road but does not have the same off road ability of the Rangie. If you change the big low profiles for winter wheels from November - April, the X handles brilliantly in snow and ice - sometimes, its more about the drivers ability, I've helped a Disco and a Rangie who got themselves stuck, with my X5.

Haven't quite had the heart to sell the Rangie yet, and use her once a week or so, but it's getting to the right time now, changed the private plate last week so now there's really no excuse for her to sit on the drive.....I've had a happy 6 year ownership although expensive at times. Lucky sod who buys her - I've had everything done by now!!! Best of luck with the X5, you won't look back and there are great BMW forums out there, both UK and Us-based. :D
