A retrospective intro having already posted a problem with my Disco 2 ;)

My name is Rich, I'm 52 and 3/4, live in the Wye Valley near Monmouth and my current Landy is a Disco 2 TD5S which is giving me a few small problems at the moment. I have previously owned a 109 and 88 S2, 88 S2A, Disco 1 300tdi, P38 4.0 County and a 2.5 V6 Freelander.

My Landys have always had to work (mostly towing....except for the Freelander!!) . I now find myself, for the first time, not needing a tow vehicle and wondering what project Landy to buy for fun when I sell my TD5. My perfect landy for everyday use would have to be a Classic RR 300tdi but all the good ones are now expensive "modern classics" and the barn finds are fewer than ever.

Thank you for accepting me as a new member despite refering to my Landy as a truck. :0)

You've had a few landys. If you root around there are still late model RR classic's to be found. I agree you get a lot of car for say £4-6k or cheaper even. If I had the money and no family commitments I'd go for a four door unmolested V8.

I just like the simplicity and originality of the Classic and the tdi would be a very useable "every day" (occasional use really, truth be known!) Landy.
