I had a problem with the CD player in mine, I took it out, removed the cover, thought maybe it needs freeing up, used to keep jamming and, wouldn't eject the cartridge, I rubbed a pencil over all the slots in the mechanism thinking it would help, then connected it turned it on and the cartridge ejected when, the buttton was pressed, replaced it and operated it from the HU and,
it worked perfectly, put it all back together all working fine until, one day I ejected the cartridge to change the CDs on replacing it back to square one, jammed again, took it apart again connected it as before ejected, replaced all working again, I did this several times until, I came to the conclusion that it didn't like the cartridge being disturbed, all the time the same CDs were left in it, it worked fine, never did find out why, was going to get a new CD player, they were available at the time for, £180! never got round to it in the end.

Gave up using the CD player in ours, the music on the phone via a little FM transmitter plays well on the radio.

Same. This time I noticed a wire rod thingy on the rhs of the cd cartridge which looked like it was stopping the cartridge ejecting. Didn't think much of it at the time, thought maybe it moves out of the way when certain criteria are met, feck knows!
Anyway took it apart again , so tin cover off, 6 screws, slidey plastic door thingy, release the tabs, then 3 tiny screws holding the plastic bit that has the eject button on it.
As before, fiddled with various wheels and levers and somehow got the cartridge to eject by pressing down with a small screwdriver on the eject button micro switch.
Tried the player and all good again.
Remember that thin wire rod from earlier? When I refitted the plastic panel with the eject button on it that wire rod got pushed to the left preventing the cartridge going in and if it was already in, prevent it coming out.
The wire has to be tucked to the right slightly and is held there by the eject button panel. Cartridge now goes in and out no problem.
I'm not convinced that was my problem but it's working again for now. The wire rod is just to the right of the yellow sticker and you can just see the cranked other end at the aperture where the issue was.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, when the CD player was sitting on the boot floor, I could eject and put the cartridge back in with no problems at all, maybe when it was fitted in place, it was slightly deformed somehow causing it to jam, I dunno I just didn't eject the cartridge that often after, just made do with the 6 CDs that were in there or, listened to the radio.

Weather is dry but blowy tomorrow and seeing as I'm on a roll I'm going to investigate the rear door speakers not working.
Question if I may....
What voltage should I see at the 2nd row door amps going in and going out?
If it's the same as the sub woofer amp ? I can easily measure that connector for comparison as the trim isn't back in yet.

Going to start another post re door speaker stuff.

I had my unit (Clarion) modified with the external jack, I have a mini Bluetooth adaptor so I really only use my phone or the little DAB unit I bought a while back. I stopped using the CD player years ago, it still works but as with any cd player can be a bit flaky over bumps and the proverbial pothole trail..........

Mines the alpine unit.

Yes my CD works too but I can't be bothered faffing around with it these days
