Tested a new 90 XS...

...and loved it.
Black with full chequer plate kit and a tow bar.
Seats are genuinely comfy (!), pulls much better than the Td5 with a lot more torque, 6th gear made 80 fine on the dual carriageway and it's quieter too.
The new instruments are massively improved (and the dash feels tougher) and the ventilation actually works!

The question now is where to get one from?
Lapworth Associates seem a good bet with £3k off list.
