hi, just swapping the v8 engine over in my disco 1
first problem is the new (2nd hand engine only has 2 temp sensors and mine has 3, to save me swapping all the housing over does anyone know if its ok to leave the 3rd sensor?
im hoping someone has come across this before?
thanks a lot.

I think the third one (i take it you mean the one with two spades) is for the air con to kick the fans in!
If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will be along to tell ya!

ah that might explain that then as mine does have a/c
thanks for the info, if any one else has any more info to help please fire away

As u do have a/c you will get the high under bonnet temps that a/c equipped vehicles can have some times.
This copied from Rave should explain.

It should be noted that under high coolant
temperatures, when the engine is switched off, the
condenser fans will be activated and will run for
approximately ten minutes.

thanks for the info, now its up and running, i'll swap it over.

can i ask though, where do i find the RAVE i eep hearing about and is it free to get?
thanks
