Hi, I am Anna and I have had my 2004 Range Rover for nearly 3 years.

I am new to this and not sure how to ask for advice, so sorry if I am going the wrong way about it.

I am wondering if I have got Bluetooth to connect my phone too? I have got a telephone button by my navigation/entertainment system and what looks like a microphone by the interior lights in the centre but not sure if I can activate with a code or something? I’ve read the manual and it only tells me of the option to insert a SIM card. My friend recently managed to connect her phone to her 2005 Discovery via Bluetooth and I’ve been wondering if that’s possible on myRange Rover?

I also been trying to find Aspen coloured mats for my Range Rover and have been told these have been discontinued. Does anyone know if I can still get these? I don’t want to get black ones as I really like the interior and I don’t think black ones would suit.

Sorry for coming in with questions.

Kind regards
Anna

No idea about the Bluetooth or electronic stuff, sorry.

For the mats, try giving Bob at LRP of Camborne a ring, 01209 612799. I don't know if he has them, but he has been selling LR/RR parts for over 30 years, and might know where you cna get them.

And welcome to LZ! :)

The early model L322's didn't have bluetooth and those a couple of years later that did - had problems connecting with iPhones....

There are aftermarket products that can integrate into the l322 - my 2003 had a Parrot system that was very neatly installed and worked flawlessly.

If it has a slot to insert a sim card then it's unlikely it has Bluetooth.
You insert a sim card and the car becomes a very large, very heavy mobile phone. You can use a pay and go sim in it then divert calls from your normal mobile to the new number when you are driving but its a faff.
Much better as Saint said to get a decent Bluetooth handsfree kit installed.
I have two sat in boxes somewhere but don't have any documentation for them but they're both good ones (one is Nokia but should work on any Bluetooth phone, the other is a bury communication one)
If you have a good auto electrician who could fit them for you, I'd be happy to send them for postage costs.

Thank you! I will give him a call. That’s just around to corner from me, ideal!

Thanks again!

Gee, that’s very kind! Are you sure? I’ve got two electricians as stepsons, but not sure how they are with cars. I will ask my partner if he knows someone later and will let you know if I have someone to fix it.
Thank you very much!

Thats what makes this forum the bestest ever ever ever and all that jazz - oh and it helps to be a little bit cuckoo too...

I’ve been on a different site to ask for advice before quite a while back and nearly had my head bitten off. Was a bit weary, but completely unnecessary! Thanks for a warm welcome

My partner is, but I’m Dutch

It has been very windy and never ending rain, will need mooring ropes soon

Very windy and never ending rain is normal in a Cornish winter, you will get used to it after the first 20 years! :)

The mooring ropes are because I live on a boat. It is on the Cambridgeshire fens, very similar to Holland, just over the North Sea. Flat, lots of water, and lots of pumping stations. The Fens were drained by Dutch engineers in the 16th century, and there are lots of Dutch houses and Dutch surnames around here.

My Mum was Dutch - Eindhoven neck of the woods....born over there and then when she married my Dad she moved to the UK.....big Dutch Barge woman my Mum was....strong as an Ox, as big as an Ox....and when she was in a bad mood, she raged like an Ox too.....

Lovely lady, but oh boy was she physically strong, beginning life on the barges humping ropes, sails, cargo for the first 20 odd years before she met my Dad makes for a strong frame.....

Died in 2016 which sucks....hey ho - still love yer Mum!

Didn't know yer Mum was a boatwoman. Respect. Living and working on a boat makes you strong.

And RIP to Saint's Mum! :(

That’s pretty amazing. I know the Dutch got specialised in draining land, they had to lol.
What’s the chances again lol.
I think you had worse up there, my family in Holland also suffered with strong winds last night.

No way!!!! I’m from just south of Eindhoven, near Belgium border! Eersel, heard of it?

And think my partner, daughter and stepchildren would give me near enough same description as your mum lol. Not worked on the boats, but have been on the rigs a couple of times as an engineer.
Sounds like a lovely lady, sorry she passed away

Sometimes the way it goes. Sometimes the East gets it, sometimes the West side gets it. Sometimes both sides get it.

I have been to Holland a few times, I like it there, best day out I think was climbing the tower of the Westerkirk in Amsterdam. Because it is so flat, you can see the whole country, pretty much.
Hope your folks are OK over there, a few boats snapped their ropes in the wind last night here.
