TDV6....fuel surprise

Noticed a few good used examples around at what I consider reasonable prices.
Popped across the road to talk to a neighbour who bought same last year to ask about fuel economy.
Was rather taken aback when he said that he had never had over 25 mpg and that it had slipped under 20 several times.

Now I have made several sedate journeys with him and couldn't put him in the ' thrasher ' category.
Are his figures about right ?

What vehicle are you talking about? There has never been a Range Rover TDV6!
The Classics had various diesels, but all 4 cylinder, The P38 had a straight 6 BMW, whilst the current ones had a different straight 6 BMW (the TD6) but now have a V8 Diesel, unique to Land Rover (TDV8)
The TDV6 is used in the Discovery 3 and the Range Rover Sport

I would expect 20-25 from a TD6, depending on how heavy footed you are. I'm sure I could get one below 20 quite easily.
Although they're getting better, if you want good economy, don't buy a Range Rover.
