Had my fair share of td5's now and fancy a change of vehicle, I considered a newer td5 but for just a little more I can get a nice tdci, one has come up locally in a garage, 59 Reg 12,500 miles and it's absolutely mint not a Mark inside or out for 17k, checked the budget and with a bit of saving I can afford it (and talk nicely to mr Lloyds tsb) question is are the tdci's worth it? Any common faults or anything to look for? I know my td5's well but I've never even looked at a tdci before haha, any advice to a buyer?
Thanks!

Yes worth it.

What variant you looking at? Cos if you don'y buy it I might lol!!!

Check the sump recall was done (should have a concave section), check it ain't nicked, and the usual bodyworks etc. I think they're a sound buy.

It's a 90 county van back in black, I wasnt even considering a tdci untill I drove past this earlier, I'll call in for a better look tomorrow, is there any more info about this sump recall so I know what to check for?
Thanks!

It was done cos the propshaft could hit the sump offroading. If done the sump will have a concave area to accomodate the propshaft. Sounds nice mate, but I need a 110 lol.

Does any TDCI owner know how do get the heater motor out or have any tips. My blower isnt working at number 1 and i have been told it is a problem with the resistor pack. I have ordered a resistor today and just wondering if anyone has any tips on getting the whole unit out.

Thanks

Mrs Blip has a Tdci 90 and loves it. Redesigned dash doesn't leave me with much room but worth it for a heater that works!

Cheers

The heater in the one I tested was incredible - in fact so hot that I had to stop and take my fleece off. March, T-shirt and Defender were not 3 words I ever thought I'd associate!

The heated screen on my Disco was so good that I think they should be standard fit on all Land Rovers - spec be damned!

Dash is a bit restrictive of my legs, but a few quid on some Mud rails to put the seat back a few inches will sort that.

All in all, I was hugely impressed.
