TDC light on constantly

Nearly always after engaging reverse on Freelander 1.8 Petrol Sahara does the Yellow TDC light appear on my dash, and my reversing lights stay on even when I engage forward gears and drive for miles. Has anyone encountered simialr problems, and fixes please.

Lots of threads on here about it, try a search.
First place to look would be the wires running down from the switch where they flex when you change gear.

failing that ram screw driver through it.
