When you say "no controls work on that panel" what about the clock, boot release and parking sensors?

yep they all work, just no response from the air suspension controls, By no lights i mean no height status lights

What is meant by HARD FAULT and what about the battery ? What do I check for ? Charging rate. Volts amps ?

There some checks in the system that can be deemed as fluke or passing and the ecu can sometimes keep checking and if not present the next time won't highlight the issue but then after a certain amount of times a more severe issue the system will shut down to protect components or possible further damage to the car.

A good battery is 12.6v and above 12.4v and lower is gone, check volts engine off then check with engine running at 2000rpm and everything turned on and you should have about 14.7v which is a good alternator output.

A hard fault or shut down situation has to be diagnosed, repaired and cleared for the system to come back Into play;)

EAS is in a "hard fault" condition hence the lack of height selector lights and the dead compressor.
Recently had same symptoms. I even got told it was a height sensor fault. It resolved itself when the rear tailgate lock was replaced and battery was charged fully.

So the ecu could have been isolating the system and thinking the rear tailgate was open? Did you have any Interior lights on as well?

Well i never. Plug the diagnostics in. First make sure all is working. Pump ok. Tank holding 8bar. All valves working. Headlight adjuster ok. So I think let’s do a calibration. Directly that was done. Turn ignition off re start car and it all comes to life. Well I never. But there was no fault on the dash or the diagnostic screen weird or what :) happy now as bought cheap as suspension not working and was smoking. Smoking was a blocked filter at the back of engine suspension needed calibrating. :) Tanks to all

Good news that it's all working but I'd re check the tank pressure after it's been running for a few minutes. See below from manual

The compressor is used to supply air pressure to the air suspension reservoir. The ECU monitors the pressure within
the reservoir and, when the engine is running, maintains a pressure of:
13.7 bar (199 lbf/in2), in systems without an external pressure relief valve
11.8 bar (171 lbf/in2), in systems with an external pressure relief valve

I'd keep an eye on the compressor temperature as well. I usually get 2 or 3 goes at callibrating before it overheats and shuts down until it cools enough to restart.
It may stop filling the tank until it cools enough to continue.

funny, my son helped with the calibration and he said lets do it a few times to make sure, so will leave it a few min between,

Thanks

Is this what you mean
