td5 year 2000 110 fuel filter assembly

Serviced my truck today and discovered that the fuel filter assembly had broken,. sheared off where it bolts to the chassis,just dangling by the fuel pipes!

This is the second time its happened in two years last time it leaked derv everywhere and i replaced it with a second hand unit from the breakers for forty quid.

New they are serious money (£300+) ,has anyone moved the location from the wheel arch to somewhere more sensible? i have found another second hand one today for 48 quid but wondered about relocating it.
Any ideas?

you can get them cheper and fit one way valve and restrictor in right connector ,the housings are the same apart from the connectors

Can you explain further....where cheaper and how does this work please?
