Td5 wont rev over 1000rpm in reverse

Hi all i have a d2. Td5 just had auto rebuilt recently. I have a problem that randomly occurs in reverse on a slight incline it wont rev over 1000 rpm will do the same on flat ground if i put my foot on the brake. I have no issue in drive. has anyone had this issue

Think this must be part of the problem.
I'd take it back to whoever did the rebuild and get them to do it again.

But have you done a stall test? What year is the D2?

I have changed the maf still dose it have had it on the scan tool cant see anything
Seriously, the MAF has feck all to do with this.
Disconnect it and it'll drive as it ought to anyway.
If any sensor is likely to cause the engine to not pick up, until your foot has been planted to the floor for a while, it'll be the MAP/IAT.
Ask me how I know!
But this would only be true if the motor did the same in first gear!
So I suspect the gearbox.
