TD5 Vibration/Shudder

MY ADVICE!!!! Live with it or SELL IT..as there's no real solution to the vibration..not even from Landrover...save yer money folks!!!..

And you'll regret it so soon as you get home and end up with back pain from the crap driving position, along with the wheel bearings needing replaced the complete lack of power, oh and the nagging thought that your rear prop might just fall off at any point sending the car tumbling down the road.

They're the worst things on 4 wheels and should all be burnt.:flame2:

I have the same issue on my 99 TD5, bit of a shudder going on from around 70/75, will have to check out some of the suggestions above..

HI , new to this too , my 2000 td5 doing the same but at 70 ,checked all the usual balancing, uj's and gone 1 futher by checking the diffs too , had a new doughnut fitted a week ago , vibration got worse (even at 300 and had to replace it as it disintergrated . uj's not seized etc etc etc , wish I had hung on to my 300 now too P*!"*D off . Rear bearing starting to lightly grind , but our pepper grider is worse ! Not much bite left on the pirreli scorpions but past its M.O.T with flying colours

Check the swivels...not an unknown thing...

set of new bf's fitted and balanced before coming home ,got home ,roughly 10 miles and my doughnut has disinrtgrated AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Done everything we can think of , is anyone out there that has an idea , even my Landi club mates are baffled ????????????????????????:

What's the matter wiv you lot...ffs

It can be one or several of the things mentioned...

So start by making a list...if this is difficult ask the wife, she'll help...

Go thru the list one at a time, then test drive, if not try the next one...

On our Disco1 200TDi, we had the wheels balanced, changed fore and aft, steering damper, tracking checked, new shocks and springs on front, wheel bearings checked and re-greased, bush on the A-frame, then we found it the swivel shims had worn from when we re-built them last year.
But there were things we hadn't checked yet like UJ's etc.

Do a search....your not the first to have this you know...

Change the 300 donut for a 200 rear prop and diff flange, known fix.
