Just disposed of my 300tdi in "favour" of a 99 TD5 ES. Immediately noticable was the wandering steering. Checked all the usual culprits ie track rod ends, steering box, tracking etc, fitted new track rod (which improved things) but what happens is that on a cambered road the steering wants to pull left and if I move towards the centre of the road, as soon as I touch the white line it kicks slightly right. On a level surface it seems ok. Any ideas?

my disco does the same there is different hubs fitted to 2003 on to over come the problem of it pulling to the left but they are not cheep how mutch play do you have in the steering box and what condition is the steering damper in

Play in the steering box is minimal. Not sure about the damper, I'll have to take it off to find out. The cars' only done 89k miles.

Can't see that different hubs would cure the problem irrespective of what Landrover might say. Leaning towards the panhard rod at the minute although I can't detect visible movement in the bushes when the cars' off the ground.
