td5 starting electrical problems

I have a td5 v reg I am experiencing problems starting when I turn the ignition on it turns the starter over without me engaging it when it's running the starter keeps engaging when this happens the Windows don't work and the wipers I know there is oil on the red plug in the ecu would this cause the problem or would it be somewhere else I experience no power loss cutting out or misfire from the engine the alarm also goes off at night when it's locked anyone have any ideas of this electrical problem or where I need to be looking??

TD5 is an engine fitted to more than one Land Rover model.
