My TD5 seems to be very slow accelerating from a standing start. Once above 30 mph it seems fine ! . I have been told this could be an air flow meter problem ( common fault) ??? Any ideas ???

Before anything else,just try unplugging it - if it goes better the Maf is shot.

Seconded,did the same on mine,unplugged maf and tried it,seemed to be more responsive. new maf fitted and changed injector harness....result, smoother and better drive. just remember they ain't no sports car but they will go if you boot em..

Could also be a problem related to fuel starvation. I'd be tempted to check all the usual suspects - lift pump/sedimentor/fuel filter etc.
