td5 possible engine miss

hi ive got a 1999 td5, 10p engine, for the last few days when doing 55/60 mph it kind of jerks, its done it 3 times tonight whilst coming home, if it was petrol you would think a plug lead was breaking down, no faults are stored on ecu, any ideas, thanks phil
 
if no oil at the ECU imo it's something fuel related, filter, fpr, or in the worst case pump... cos these are not covered by diagnostics
 
It may seem silly but take a look at your auxillary belt. I have a 1999 td5 and when my belt snapped it jerked a few times on the motorway and then went on the 3rd time..
 
its given up now, m and s lights on engine management light on, 1000 revs and throttle pedal none responsive, also gear indicator in dash flashing, used my cheap reader(engine only) no faults showing, must be on gearbox ecu, will get it read tomorrow
 
It's just a cheap code reader not sure of make, plus I've got a Bluetooth reader that works on my phone, I no it works because I always read the ecu engine only before it goes on the garage reader, battery is fine, I've charged it today whilst doing the fuel pump, when the warning lights came on I was by my mother-in-law house so it's parked on her drive, I turned engine off and restarted no lights showing and engine was reving properly, I had kids in car so didn't want to risk the 5 miles back home,
 
you can't rely on any cheap OBDII code reader, even if it gives you codes they are corrupted or it could not see actual codes at all cos Td5 is not OBDII compliant so forget about that...

the fact that you charged the battery doesnt mean your charging system works well or that the battery is good...measure voltage on it while cranking and with engine running
 
Found my problem, injector orings, changed them today, car running the best it has done since I've owned it, the only problem I've got now is the air con fan running all the time, it's over cooling the engine, so I've disconnected the plug now until I can look at it, thanks phil
