Hi all, just been on the phone to a diesel ECU mapping firm based in the UK.

During the call, he told me that he always takes his kit with him when he goes on holiday to Greece and other destinations in Western Europe - Oh yes I said and do you come to France? Yes he said !!!

So, are there any TD5 owners out there who live or have a TD5 in France and would like to have it remapped?

If we could get a few cars together to justify his travel costs he will come and transform our motors for us.

He sounds a very knowledgable guy, races a Defender and is very into LR products. He has a rolling road to develop his products and seems a pucka bloke.

So, anybody up for an injection of performance?

Cheers
Dave

Shouldn't it always be tested and refined on a rolling road bench?
Isn't every car a little different?
...off course it will always be better the original, but to get the best out of it...

I used to get bespoke suits but the off the shelf stuff got so good I stopped paying the ridicules amounts that tailors wanted.... bit the same with re-maps... there are only so many things that can be tinkered with and if your engine is in reasonable fettle a standard re- map will be more than good enough. Unless you want to pay an extra few hundred quid for a bespoke job that may (or may not) be better. I have used the guy Biglad mentions and he is good value for money. (Dynachip)

It would not surprise me if most of the re-maps going around are the same file!

"Hear hear" If you care to think about the variables involved, they are relatively few, with few permutations. Most people are looking for better low revs performance, this being brought about by reshaping the fuelling so more goes into the engine earlier on in the rev range than std.
