hi all wondering if you could help a little??? ive had landys for some 8 or more years series 3, 2 1/4petrol, 90 200tdi, 90 300tdi, and have done all sorts to them engines, gearboxes, egr removal, then yesterday at spur of the moment bought a 2003 90TD5 77k, she is like no other i have ever owned pulls like a f*****G train but she likes a drink!!! i will remove the EGR simply because i hate them and they ruin engines! maybe take the cat out (more than likely), im looking for more MPG. has anyone had one remapped? is it safe to remap? there is a guy local to me who remaps cars for £150 and he is really good apparently, will i get good returns from doing all this?
thanks if you look and post me feedback

I've not had mine remapped but quite a few of the lads on Defender2 have, and they reckon providing you drive steady they do get more MPG. If your planning on getting a remap just to get a few more MPG though I wouldn't have thought it worthwhile, the price of a remap would pay for a lot of diesel and it would probably take years to get that back in fuel savings.

De-cat, De-Egr, improved intercooler (thought pricey)

Think a straight through may aswell but someone else can confirm

Road tyres, remove any weight you can, remove the roof rack if there is one.
