Hi Landy lovers

I have a 2005 Defender 90 TD5 with 230000km on the clock. She runs well and has been 'chipped' to enhance performance etc.

I have done a pile of reading on the subject of the engine cutting out/misfiring and reverting to idle RPM. Most of the information I have read is pre 2010 and I was wondering, having just joined this forum, whether there are any more recommendations for sorting this issue out?

So far I have come across:
- changing the injector loom and sealing the plug outlet from the top of the engine (which I have done)
- checking all Earth connections for a faulty earth (which ones are known to give trouble?)
- checking the throttle for chafe on the wires
- checking and cleaning out the plugs under the seat at the ecu (checked, cleaned a number of times)
- possibly buying and fitting a new wiring loom as a last resort (if they still make them?)
- cutting and soldering wires to prevent oil from entering ECU

This is a common problem I'm sure so I just wondered if there was someone on here with some real experience in sorting it out? Any info would be lekker!

Cheers,

Julian
