So I’ve got an intermittent low power issue, can be driving fine then power can drop off, if it does it under load it’s more instant and harsh than my foot slipping off the throttle.
Only codes on Hawkeye are 8014 & 8046,
MAF was showing zero on live data so replaced, still showing zero.
Are the faults even related as the MAF shows zero even when it’s running well.
Where else should I be looking?

It’s a 2000 TD5, the 8014 says air flow low, the 8046 days air flow fault active.
I did research them which led me to get the live data which suggested the MAF was at fault but apparently not, is F2 in the engine bay fuse box?

F2 is in the engine bay, anyway being Eu2 even if the MAF is fubar it should not affect driveability but if the harness is hurt it can make trouble . The symptom you describe seems overboost so check everything wastegate related and make sure that the turbo side is not sticking

+1 sounds like classic wastegate problem

and if MAF is in doubt, just unplug it, it'll run almost as good without, certainly better than if the MAF is misbehaving.
But losing power under load, normal power temporarily restored with an ignition switch off then restart, until you ask it for more power e.g hard acceleration or going up a hill, is more or less deffo a waste gate problem, or with the actuator.

So just checked the fuse and was ok so yes wastegate it could well be, new turbo or is there a fix? Or a way to test? But it’s doing exactly as you describe
