Hi all, don't know if i'm just being picky but have noticed my '99 Disco runs perfectly at idle but when i take the revs up above 1000 through to about 1800 it missfires/runs lumpy. When it gets to 2000 it sweetens up perfectly. This only happens when she's cold, once its up to temperature its fine. Should also mention it only does it when stationary, not driving. Only found out about it when i got in frozen and wet through the other day and wanted her to warm up quicker! I should mention that she's got a plug in tuning box now (EDT programmable box), but don't think this has anything to do with it. Also, sometimes the revs don't drop off when changing gear, any ideas or answers will be much appreciated. Oh, one other thing, is EGR removal a must, i mean, is there a noticeable gain in performance and economy? Cheers

Don't know about the revs problem, but egr probably will make a difference to a car of that age. The thing is that the valve gets stuck in the open or part-open position, and performance suffers. I noticed a real drop in performance in my TD5 over a couple of years. egr removed and it was back to running like new(ish). Smoother and quieter.

To eliminate this being the problem...I would 'unplug' the tuning box and try running it without it...then you will know for certain if this has anything to do with it....also whilst on subject of running rough....a classic example of a dodgy injector loom.....have you checked your ECU Red plug for any oil contamination ???

Mine used to do this...having De-EGR'd it and changed the injector loom fairly recently it no longer seems to do it...

Yes very noticable.....and runs smoother...well worth it!! :)
