Hi
Can anyone help, had problems with disco mk2 Td5 (2000) for a couple of months now. Started by losing power and engine management coming on, turned engine off and restarted and set of again ok for a couple hundred yards, ended up being towed home. Had a look at ECU and it had oil in it, cleaned with brake cleaner and put back on but still same problem, replaced wiring loom, still no better so sent ECU off to be tested, was told that it was oil contaminated and charged £480 for a reconditioned one with recode. Put this on started great got a mile down the road and loss of power again engine still ticks over but no power, checked fuse board this did have a bit of oil in it but not much, and have cleaned it. Any ideas on what to check next

If you turn the engine off and then on again does the power return until you boot it again? If so it sounds like turbo overboosting. Check the wastegate rod is moving freely. You may need to lube it up and move it back and forth.

Also, keep checking the red plug at your ecm as the oil will keep appearing for some time until it drains out of your loom.
