My TD5 keeps breaking down. The story so far is told on these pages under "Noisy fuel pump".
It has broken down four times in the past few weeks. It just stops after driving about 10 to 15 miles. I have replaced the injector loom and had a couple of run outs thought things were looking up. Tonight I went for a drive in the snow and as I was thinking all was well It stopped as I slowed for a junction. I thought it was some of the oil worling it's way down the harness towards the ECU so stripped and sprayed it with electrical switch cleaner. Unfortunatly the battery was now flat. I had No1 Son come down with some jump leads. After an bit of churning the engine fired up and off we whent home.
Not sure where to look next. Ideas welcome.

I hope this is now cured. I think it was the - terminal clamp to the battery a bit loose. I went to the local garage after fitting a screw between the post and clamp. Tehy could find nothing wrong and said that the clamp not been tight enough might be the cause. I havee been looking at a thread about this on here. Next stop was the local motor facters where I got a new terminal clamp, whent home and fitted it. The battery had been on charge over night and had the engine running after tow attempts. We have been along to Tesco at Hexham for the weekly shopping which gave the car a 25 mile run. No problems yet.

nice one i hope it has its a great feeling when you have fixed something thats took a while figure out bet you feel well chuffed :)
