Disco 2 TD5 issue

As per usual i replace some parts and it bites me in the balls.

This time the Injector harness was replaced along with the front cam seal.
everything was cleaned out etc "it was full of oil" #

now under hard revs it breaks up and smokes like a banchee, if you leave it to idle for a little while it burns the oil off and runs ok..

Try to give it the knackers again and it smokes and runs on 2-3 cylinders!

After being left to idle it sounds great!!

have you fitted the new harness fully to each injector and why did you change it and was it a cheap one

Hiya JM.

It was a Bearmach one i panic ordered, it seemed good quality, it was the same as the one on the car, i'm assuming on 185k it's on the 2nd or 3rd one by now.

The connectors were pushed home fully.

did it run alright with the old harness if so refit and try again

It started to Buck and Misfire, i assumed the old one was full of Oil, and it was..

It doesn't buck in gear anymore just misfires and smokes when the pedal is buried!

ok is the ecu red connector full of oil too

It had some in it, not alot, it seemed to have "just" made it there.

Contact cleaner was used and the ECU hung upside down..

no oil came out.

so you fitted harness to cure a fault and it hasnt ,has it altered the original fault,better /worse or the same

It has she idles fine, but can't rev above 3k without smokin and dropping a cylinder or 2

its made it a bit better?starts easy?

Oh yes starts much easier

i was trying to ascertain whether fuel was ok injector washers,id want to try another loom ie known good one

Fuel is ok.
Injector washers - no idea.

I'll get another loom

186k I believe they're original.
