Hi,
Ran out of fuel in my DIsco by mistake and took it to a local garage, they had it for three months and did nothing telling me they were too busy, then asked ot buy it. I had it recovered home and have had several mobile mechanics out to try to get it started, filled full with fuel they found it empty even though it had been brimmed.
Alas no joy until yesterday, last ditch attempt called out a fitter and he found the ECU did not read right, looked up the injectors and found they did not map to the ECU. Took the rocker cover off and found the Injectors have the Numbers were a: 4, 4 ,1,1 , 3 !
Can a TD5 have been running on injectors that are not matched to the ECU and are not numbered to match the right slot in the engine? Can you have a set of injectors missing a number 2 and 5?
I'm pretty sure something has gone on as it had a new reconditioned steering box fitted just before i collected it from them and now it's loose and looks unpainted and old and there is no power steering fluid in it.
It feels like I have been had, buy before I loose my cool, I just want to check I and the mechanic are noot leaping to the wrong conclusions. The ECU was looked up on a snapon digital reader.
Appreciate if anyone can cast some light on this.
Cheers
Ouch
