TD5 injector fault codes

Hi all,

My disco has been running a bit roughly recently so dug out the nanocom and got faults on injectors 2,4 & 5 saying open curcuit (current). The loom was replaced about a year ago. Is it possible for oil to bugger it up so soon?

Possible. I would also check the plug on the ECU as oil can migrate to here as well.

Plug at ecu and also at cylinder head are clean

Yep! Unplug it from the injectors and you'll see oil in the connectors, oil may not have gone as far as the plug on the front of the head but it's quite likely to be shorted at the injector end.

prob a daft question......but is there any real way of stopping the oil getting in to the injector connections? the last loom that was fitted was off ebay. is a land rover part any better?

was the faults cleared when the loom was last changed or are you getting old faults

these are logged as new faults. once cleared they go away for a couple of days then come back
