I have installed injectors in this engine I have bought and have rotated the crank till the cam on No 1 is high and the number one is by the cam locking hole. I have then tightened down the adjustment screw till it won't go any further and then backed off just over 360 degrees and tightened the locking nut. Am I right in tightening adjustment screw till it won't go any further or should I have stopped when feeling stiff resistance?

Yup, tighten til it stops then back off, some suggest backing off further though I stick with 1 1/4 turns.
Who suggests to exceed the 1 turn is a bit paranoic IMO, the 1 full turn is already at the safety higher limit cos other almost similar PD engines(VW) have 1/2 turn(180 degree) adjustment... exceeding the 1 turn will affect the engine's power
