Can anyone help. Whilst driving my 53 plate TD5, if you go over heavy bumps the rear suspension stiffens right up for a while then goes back to normal. As i live in an unmade road its nearly everytime we go out. Also most of the time the suspension loses its air and sits low at the rear(usually on just one side). The thing is it dosent happen every night after being left, which i think would eliminate a hole in the airbag(which were both replaced about 18 months ago). Any feedback would be appreciated. Gary

Disconnect the battery, and see if it sinks overnight still.

If it does, it is either the airbags, the 'air trunking' hoses from the compressor to the bags, or the valves inside the compressor housing. Getting out there with the washing up liquid and looking for bubbles aint a bad place to start.

Hi Gary,

I had exactly the same issues. It was the airbags. See if you can get real good quality ones like the Continental jobs (if you haven't already). www.discovery2.co.uk do an excellent fitting guide.

The bags get a hammering if used regularly in grittly conditions and I am convinced the very cold weather does not help either.
