Hi to everyone (I'm new to the Landyzone forum).
I have a question regarding the fuel pump on my S2 Disco. I started it up the other day with the drivers door open and heard the pump making the whining strangled cat noise for about 2 or 3 seconds. I'd never heard it before so over the next few days I've tried starting it with the door open and shut. Can't hear it at all with the door shut, but can with the door open.
My question is does it always do that on start up (some sort of initial priming) or do I have air getting in?
I took the boot carper up and removed the pump cover hatch. So now I can hear it with the door shut, but it is silent when running, the discos starts instantly and I can see not trace of fuel leaks along the length of the system.
I'm hoping someone will say yes they always do that you've just never heard it before, especially as I'm doing about a 1500 mile trip though europe in two weeks time (on the road).
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
Regards
Haydn
