td5 fault code reader

hi, anyone know any of those 30 quid-ish fault code readers on ebay will actualy work on my 04 td5 defender- all I want to do is try and reset the three amigos (well, only 2 of them now- ones disappeared now!). they seem to come up in wet weather.I've read some threads about the subject and it appears some might work but which ones?what obd thingy do I need it to be compatable with?

I can't comment on the cheapy code readers you've seen on ebay, but I would say that simply resetting any fault codes without finding and repairing the cause isn't the correct way to proceed.

Surprisingly one worked on my m3 but wont work on anything else none of them worked on the td5
I have a nanocom which does everything do yourself a favour & invest in decent equipment

Couldn’t agree more ref the cheap readers, waste of money and indeed always better to get a decent reader

Assume the TD5 isn’t OBD2 complaint either , so assume that will cut out cheap ebay readers, lol

I've read a few threads on here about the Foxwell NT510 that a member recommends and i've been considering getting it's not £30 but a lot cheaper than the Nanocom.

I have inspected/cleaned as many abs sensor joints as I can find but won't know if it has done any good until I reset the faults- or will it reset itself?.
love to be able to afford a decent reader but will be selling defender as soon as I have got it all together. just done all four springs and shocks, galvanised turrets to match galvanised chassis, 4x xeng door catches, the list goes on- just want to make sure its topline before I advertise it.
