td5 electrical probs

Hi, My 2002 disco has a mind of its own, the dash lights go on and off when they like, the immobiliser locks me out. the headlights stay on when they are not switched on. I have tried changing the under dash fuse box but its made it worse.Are the fuse boxes different on each year???
any ideas please...

I don't have a lot of D2 Electrical experience, so I don't want to give you a bum steer, but have you considered the BCU?

yes we have changed the bcu, its not that.Looks like its the instrument clocks causing the problem..

Had the same problem with mine after being connected to the hawkeye for some code reading and resetting. Seems the control unit just got its bits twisted for some unknown reason. Went to do a test of the BCU and after tested had the same problems as you.Disconnected the battery and checked all earths. Re- connected the battery and problem solved. Maybe not much help but thought I would mention it.

Sorted at last, the fuel guage had shorted out and melted some wires in the instrument dash part.
