I finally got my new transfer box fitted (thanks to Jai) and the difflock etc all sorted out.
With a 2 inch lift I selected a Disco TD5 double carden prop for the front, using the TD5 flange at the t-box end.
I am now getting vibration. I had expected this special prop to remove vibration so it came as a bit of a surprise. I fitted 30mm of aluminium spacer at the axle end of the prop so it's not overstretched.
Somebody had said in another thread that the flanges at each end of the front prop have a correct alignment which can be sorted by taking off one end of the prop and turning the wheels on a jack to move the axle end flange round to the correct alignment. Is this right?
The prop itself only has one position where the splines are comfortable together and it slides easily - a line marked on one segment matches the grease point on the other. It's about a few degrees off centre when paired. Anyone got one that could check this out or send a pic?
Is it perhaps my rear prop causing this vibration now as it is not syncing with the front - perhaps a double carden needed at the rear also? The current rear prop is perfectly aligned.
Help me with my mystery and I will drive like a king of the road once more in my hefty chariot!
Thankyou.
