Hi,
I have a series2 discovery Td5, went to start it and the heater light went out as norm, then the temp gauge flickered and the temp gauge warning light came on and the engine will turn over but not firing. I have since taken it to a mates garage as the RAC couldn help, he has checked all fuses, and relays as there is no power tot he fuel pump on the tank. Has anyone else had anything like this happen???

Is there power too and from the fuel pump relay?

When you say there is no power to the in tank pump has he actually checked the power or is it just a case of it's not buzzing?

Has the fuel cut off switch been checked to make sure it hasn't tripped?

Hi,

Yep he has checked the power to and from the pump relay, and has also checked for power at the pump, but there is none there. He is more baffled by what the temp gauge is doing.

Check the wires behind the speedo binacle. Vauxhall corsa's suffer from a similar problem and it's due to a loose multiplug on the back of the dash.

This is purely a guess though and it's not somthing I've come across on a Disco.
