Another same old post.
2001 disco no power will not go over 2500 revs, judders like mad. I've checked the injector harness and its clean no oil but i replaced it anyway "no difference". removed the MAF sensor "no difference"

I cannot hear the fuel pump running though at all? but it still runs?

I know this is the golden question but any ideas fella's please.

Thanks

I forgot to add this was running absolutely fine until the Mrs used it one day and she didn't wait for the glow plug light to go outdent know if that could have done anything to it.

If you can't hear the fuel pump running then the problem probably is there either new pump or power to the pump. Check there is 12v at pump if so then I'd say pump is goosed

Overboost?
Run the wastegate hoses like a defender bypassing the module and see if it sorts it.

Check the waste gate isn't seized. Loads of info on how to do it if you google it

Thanks for the reply fella's. I've just removed the carpet then started to whack the ring round holding the pump in and it started whirring, left it 30 secs and it stopped again.there is power going to the plug i checked that,so what do you think dodgy pump? thanks

I'll bet it's done about 120k miles ... sounds like pump motor brush wear ...
pull the pump out, if it's covered in black sludge, replace injector seals as well as the pump ...

Update I've just put a new fuel pump in and now its running fie,but can i hell as like get that locking ring on? any tips.
and thanks for all your replies

If anyone says put the rubber seal on the pump first tell em to do one. Put the seal on the tank then just push the pump through and your locking ring will go on easy.

All sorted now till the next time
