TD5 disco bizarre temp gauge v power problem

Hi,

I have an '03 disco TD5 manual. When im driving, the temp gets to normal level, then drops rightdown to zero, the red warning light comes on, and i lose power. The tick over is fine when i stop. Had new radiator, thermostat, full service, injectors cleaned. When engine cool, or on short trips around town the car is fine, full of power, its only on a run when bizarre temp gauge drop and power loss!

Does anyone have any experiance of this happening before?
