Hi all,

I am about to do my injector seals as I have a little diesel in my oil. What I want to know is should I change the oil and oil filters before I take the rocker cover off and inspect/remove the injectors for leaks and change the seals?

If I don't then when I inspect the injectors - it will be with diluted oil, and I will have to put it all back together again before I warm it up and change the oil.

Or maybe it is best to leave and test as it is now?

What do you think I should do?

Thanks in advance.

Adam

Drain the oil and change it, then do the injector seals, without starting the engine.

That's what I would do.
Are you concerned that there may be a different issue and you don't want to change the oil in case the injector seal change doesn't solve it so you'll lose a coupla gallons of oil and a filter? by polluting it again with oil?

Yes I agree with you - at the moment I am swinging towards flushing and changing oil and filters first before internal inspection. Thanks for your input. A
