Hi one and all,

I've got a '01 TD5 that cuts out after the equivalent to about 3 miles (even when being towed), once it has cut out it won’t start on the key but will bump and run for the same distance again and die. I’ve replaced the airater (the part that removes the air from the fuel on the fuel lines) fastened to the filter, it started on the key fine and ran on tick over for about an hour, but as soon as I drove it she died again and now won’t start (but would probably bump).

Has anybody had any similar experiences or ideas on what to try before I start digging Land Rover out of the recession?
Many thanks
Oll

How long do you need to tow it before it fires up?

What piece is that? The thing undetr the fuel filter is a water drain. The fuel filter is that can thing in the right rear wheel arch ... right?

When did it last get a NEW CLEAN FUEL FILTER?

Change the fuel filter and if that doesn't work think about getting the fule pump checked, and after that maybe there's a problem with the copper washers under the injectors leaking gas into the fuel supply gallery in the head.
