TD5 Cutting out after 3 miles.

What piece is that? The thing undetr the fuel filter is a water drain. The fuel filter is that can thing in the right rear wheel arch ... right?

it started on the key fine and ran on tick over for about an hour, but as soon as I drove it she died again and now won’t start (but would probably bump).

When did it last get a NEW CLEAN FUEL FILTER?

Has anybody had any similar experiences or ideas on what to try before I start digging Land Rover out of the recession?

Change the fuel filter and if that doesn't work think about getting the fule pump checked, and after that maybe there's a problem with the copper washers under the injectors leaking gas into the fuel supply gallery in the head.
