Just changed this threads name, since the flat battery was not the issue ;). Also just had a look at some wiring diagrams for the discovery, although they're not for the same model year, after looking at the radio, window, wipers and heater circuits they all seem to use FL1, so maybe replacing it will make the radio, wipers, windows and radio work if not the alternator? I will try get another tomorrow and see what happens.

Fl1 is the link of the alternator output with the battery, it rarely blows and if it does it's was some crytical short somewhere, bypass it with a piece of wire aproximated to 150A and see then the voltage with engine running

Just bought a new fusible link, to replace the blown one, started the car: no battery light, 14.2v, Windows, wipers and blowers working are now working :D, only the radio doesn't, but that's no big deal. Very fortunate that this was such a simple fix, thanks for all your help, really appreciate it.
