First time owner and poster.
We have an 2002 TD5 90 that we plan to lightly mechanically restore over the coming years, exterior is covered in scratches with paint flaking off, perfect for using and abusing off-road.
Anyway, to the matter at hand. We had the belt tensioner fail about 200 miles ago as the car hit 150,000 miles and just this week the Crankshaft damper (metal fatigue finally got the best of it). It's had to go to the garage for this as i don't have to tools to torque it up to 340lbs/ft torque!
My question being, is it worthwhile replacing all the pulleys in connection with the auxiliary belt for peace of mind seeing as we've had 2 go already? 150k miles seems to be the magic mileage for these going.
On the positive side we had it on the dyno a couple of months ago (just for a laugh) to see what condition the engine was in, happy to report she's as solid as a rock, if not quite wanting to rev like she once did (struggled after 3,250rpm).
