Hi there , first time on this site so will probably get it all completely wrong ,but here goes, rear end on stops, compressor is not running as it should but works fine when I put power to it,I have checked the usual, height sensors, filter, fuse, relay.I've also checked the pressure relief valve and solonoid switch, they all work fine I think and the valve block holds pressure when i jump power to the compressor, only fuse I can find is no 28 in drivers fuse box.First problem in 2 1/2 years. Please tell me it's something stupid that I'm not seeing,When I parked it up I could hear air escaping as is usual, looks like it just didn't stop this time.Does anyone have any ideas before I ring to get a loan so I can get it testbooked.Just bin laid off so could have really done without this.Cheers all..

I've replaced two airbags on mine, first one blew up as the height sensor failed and the air kept on pumping in ... bang !...
The second one just wouldnt hold the air when parked over night, mechanic reckons they only last 5/6/7 years after that the rubber air bag just degrades becomes more porus and the air leaks out. Apparently the range rovers would have this same problem.

I work as a transport manager and have heard hauliers complain about have to replace airbags on their trailers which use air suspension, they will only last so long.

Nothing is designed to last !

Try a landrover breakers or ebay for cheap airbags.

Hope this helps

Try the definitive guide that Disc01 suggested it contains a lot of good easy to follow info on the TD5 air suspension. Took me about an hour to change both bags after reading it. If you need new bags I recomend Paddocks for best price and great service.
