td5 90 non start plz help

Hi all before u say to search. Have tried in google but as there no internet in the house at the mo I trying my best on my phone.

Its my friends 90 on a t plate started up reversed back 2m and as if it stalled and will not start now there is fuel coming out the fuel cooler/heater goes to the head when key on and elec pump working not much pressure tho? Almost run on easy start but only had a squit in it. Plug my eoths cose reader in and main fault is 57 fuel pump load fault. Any ideas? Thanks i

td5 needs 4 bar fuel pressure to run

Is the pump screaming? If you have some fule at the cooler then you may have a blocked fuel filter or the mesh on the bottom of the pump may be clogged.

Ok thanks yes the pump is nosiey and has been for a while and the not sure when the last time a fliter change. But was thinking of any thing else before we order a £100 pump

Before splashing out on a pump change the fuel filter as they only cost a few quid. If no joy then pull the pump and clean the fine mesh filter on the bottom of the pump. They can get clogged if you have disturbed any crap at the bottom of your tank. Whilst you have the pump out clean the tank as best you can.
