I've just had a friend call me with a TD5, his Disco has just undergone a 60,000 mile service from a main dealer. However on inspection it would seem that none of the gear/diff oils have been checked or the filters. Can anyone advise to what should have been done. Also he's unsure if it's the oil filter below the turbo ??? I can say as I only have an old 300 series.. comments and help please ..

if i am not mistaken the 48k service is a big one thus the 60k is only limited work.
i have lost my rave cd, at the moment, but if someone out there has a look on it they could copy and paste the full 60k service schedule off for you.
this would give you a bench mark at things to look at, for evidence of work done or not, as the case may be.

my friend with the TD5 has checked and they only change oil and rotor arm. However the've charged him for gear oil, he's been back this morning complained and they've issued a refund for the oil.. does make you wonder though..

Disco II with air suspension, 60,000, service only requires air intake filter renewal only, re Haynes manual for td5 98-04

haynes is wrong, air susp filter is done on 72k, a 60k service is the same as a 12k service i.e oil & rotor change and a check over, thats it!
