Td4

Hi im posting on behalf of a friend who has a freelander td4 and in the last month or so has developed a noise when he starts the car it comes from the little pipe behind the front bumper in front of the passenger wheel.
When its running it smokes too and when the engine gets turned off it makes a noise for about 30 seconds

Sorry i don't now a lot about freelanders
And any info will be a great help

Sound like the fuel burner heater kicking in.

And whats the reason for that? And whats the fuel burners job?

Just searched fuel burner and found out what i need thanks for your reply.

I wish I had one of these on my Freelander, you can get a kit to operate remotely so the FL is warm by the time you get in her. Great for this weather.

So do I, have to put a mains fan heater in for 15 minutes when it's frosted/frozen over or I'd be sat there for ever waiting for the car heater to clear the screen and that's on the inside.
