Started to have a problem with my freelander td4 51 reg. The first time I noticed a problem was when it took a little longer to start than normal, after a few cranks of the engine it fired up and I drove home. Next time I came to start it from cold, again it took longer to start, so In checked glow plugs....all ok. Then the other day it started as normal I drove about 1 mile then a small amount of smoke came out of the exhaust, the engine management light came on and when I stopped the engine it would not start again. I have checked both fuel pumps, both ok. But I have noticed that there is no movement of the rev counter when trying to start could this be a crankshaft sensor problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

No, it was your first post, so it was in the right place i.e. "introduce yourself", it was just worded all wrong, I've got loads of time on my hands at the minute so i'll help you out, i'm good like that, you just fill in the gaps
