Hiya

may i ask what revs does the turbo come in please .

Are you suppose to feel it coming in, in know its not a sports car but was wondering if you can hear or feel it come in.

There is now an adaption that came with the egr bypass kit that allows a turbo boost gauge to be fitted.

Another daft question :doh:they dont look to difficult to fit and was wondering are there vast differences between them , ie: depending on model and use or are they generally standard.

thanks as always guys and for being very patient with me.:eek:

all the best

thanks so much, dont get me wrong i think for a 2 ton car it pulls well, but dont feel it coming in when i accelerate.

thats why i was thinking of putting in the turbo boost gauge to see how well its performing or working

i will put my hands up and admit im not an expert by any means but just didnt know if by having the gauge it can tell the performance of the turbo.

thanks so much again

I have plans to fit a boost gauge at some point, but at the minute it's a low priority mod. If you don't think the turbo is working, it's best to check the boost hoses and intercooler pipes. The turbo should be felt, even in a car this big.

While checking the vacuum hoses, it's worth a quick look to see if the boosts solenoid valve is working by viewing the rod of the turbo actuator - you can see this through the right hand (uk drivers side!) wheel arch at rear of engine - get someone to blip the accelerator and the rod should move in/out about 5-10mm. This would at least show the solenoid/pipe is happy. If there was a fault though, i'd of thought the engine light would eventually come on as the expected boost pressure isn't tracking reality.

thanks so much guys, when i went out today put the box into sport mode and kicked down.

i felt more acceleration at about 2000rpm,

thanks for the info about the solonoid, im so sorry to be a royal pain you wouldnt happen to have a picture at all please.

if i fitted a turbo boost gauge what should the readings be.

as you recommended i need to check the solonoid first

thanks so much and if i may will report back on my findings.

i didnt wish to fit my synergy without knowing that the engine is ok.

thanks so much, the actuator rod does that come out the end of the solenoid, sorry to be so dense but havent got any previuos experiance of turbos, only the older series 3 land rovers.

when you look under the right hand wheel arch i cannot seem to see the same as what the picture is showing, is it at the front of the wheelarch or at the rear

so sorry guys to be a pain

thanks so much
