Td4 turbo question

So a little background, I am shortly going to be getting a jeep grand cherokee from a family member so the freelander won't be my daily anymore.

That being said my question is this... The td4 turbo is variable vein controlled by vacuum I believe.what would be involved in changing this for a turbo that isn't variable vein?

Why would you want to go to an older, less efficient turbo design?

I expect the non VNT of the Rover 75 would fit, but you'll need to measure it first.

I'm just thinking of turbo options outside of the 330d option.
