I wouldn't hold your breath that that device will work on your TD4. I know it says that it works on Freelander - but probably only Freelander 2 and some F1s eg V6 which was for the American market. Even then I imagine it may only do the engine.

However, it will be interesting to see if it does work.

At least you'll get a tablet to play with if the diags don't work.

It says it does the R200 and R400. Both of which are pre 2001, non OBD2 compliant. So it might well work.
The Windows 10 tab is a better spec than my 10 tap too. So it'll be interesting to see what it can do.

The OP really should take the FL1 back to the seller though as it will be under warranty, unless it specifically says "Trade Sale. No Warranty" on the receipt, and was sold as such.
 
if you are getting a knocking when your turbo kicks in it could be engine mounts or could be the turbo I would be hesitant about driving like that because if the turbo is going then it could carry on running when engine is turned of and then if you are not quick enough it will ruin your engine.
