Freelander 1 td4 runs a couple of seconds when switched off

hi folks my 2003 has on a couple of occasions carried on running at tickover for a couple of seconds, does not race away, only a small amount of oil in intercooler pipes(no more than i would expect on any turbo diesel) has bmw breather fitted running on supermarket diesel at moment with millers well serviced any ideas appreciated.

cheers disco mikey ,will get a replacement relay , put my mind at rest was imagining all sorts of things ,by the way like the feature in lro alot thats one quick and very nice freelander ,thanks again regards Trev.

Hasn't turned a wheel since the guys from LRO were up in May. Breaks my heart to walk past it every day and jump into the Disco.
I don't think I'll be keeping hold of it much longer :(
 
Thats a right shame , if i win the lottery i;ll buy it and take it to some shows , is the relay the one in the underbonnet fuse box although its behaved since, once again thanks very much for the advice .
