Hi, All,

Any tips or tricks for removal of the Td4 engine from a 2003 freelander.

Best out the top or dropped out the bottom, have an engine crane to use.

Will be using the haynes manual as guidance but any shortcuts would be appreciate

Also when sourcing a replacement do i need one from a freelander or can i use a 75 or ZT lump ?

Kev :)

Never done it but looking at it I think out the top ad it's quite tall and unless you can get the Freelander up on a lift you wouldn't have enough room.

Bonnet off I think ad well - would make it easier.

Well if you have the equipment to enable you to do it, the quickest way is to drop it out the bottom. Just drop it out with the g/b and ird attached. The only issue is getting the car back over it again, but for easy and speed, out the bottom is the way forward.
